“Well Done Good and Faithful Servant”

Our beloved wife, mother, and dear “Granny” went to be with her Lord and Savior this morning around 7:30am. She was peaceful and we were gathered near her as Jesus drew her into heaven. Your thoughts, prayers and words of support and encouragement mean the world to us. Please continue to post your thoughts and memories on this blog link as they put smiles on our faces. Tentatively, the service is scheduled for Thursday, Dec 4th but further details will follow as they unfold.

Her celebration of life service will be held at Cherry Hills Community Church, 3900 Grace Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO with a private interment at Ft. Logan Cemetery, Lakewood, CO

In lieu of flowers, mom asked that donations be made in her name to the following charities:

Staying at Natalie’s for awhile

Jim here – Linda is feeling kinda poorly, as they say, so I’m being the secretary.  Her days are sort of up and down, difficult to predict – she’s sleeping a lot, mostly because of the medication.  I’ve been reading the blog posts to her when she’s alert, and she enjoys hearing what everyone has to say.  Keep up the good work on the posts, but if you have trouble posting for some reason, just send email to jimhilton6070@gmail.com.

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and support.

Love,

Jim

Update – November 17th 2008

The news is not good – the liver cancer has returned, full-force, and huge hurdles are ahead.  The doctor has attached a portable chemopump which will deliver a constant low dosage of the chemo chemicals in hopes of reversing the failure symptoms of my liver.

Strong prayers are needed, my friends, to continue the battle.

Love,

Linda

Praise the Lord!

Hallelujah, great news!  My PET scan results came back showing that ALL my tumors have been basically erased, with NOTHING showing anywhere!!!!  There are not even any shadows on the scans, so the Abraxane has really done the trick.  I’ll have to continue taking chemotherapy for 6 more sessions, just to be extra sure, but I have very high hopes that I’ve turned the corner and good things lie ahead.

Thanks to all of you for your good thoughts and prayers!!!

Much love, much relief!  Please continue including me in your prayer chains.

Spread the good word about God’s healing touch!

Linda

Upcoming PET scan – July 10th

Only 2 more chemo treatments on this go-round, one on Friday the 11th, the last on Friday the 18th.  I’m scheduled for a PET scan on Thursday, the 10th, to see if the current meds are doing good work for me, and reducing the size of the tumors.

Please put me on your prayer lists, and pray that I have good results on Friday.

Love,

Linda

Almost halfway there – Session 4 of 9

Today’s chemo went pretty well, I guess you’d say – I slept through the whole thing.  My friend Patty from work was my driver and support today, and she got to read while I dozed.  Hubby took me with him to Home Depot later – he shopped while I had one of their famous brats from the kiosk out front.

Feeling ok at the moment…

Love,

Linda

3 down, 6 to go

My oncologist scheduled me for a total of 9 chemo sessions, and today was Number 3.  My hair loss is starting to accelerate, and by this weekend it’ll all be gone (what doesn’t fall out will be removed by my hairdresser).  I’ve got some very classy ballcaps to wear, not going to mess with that hot wig I bought.

I’m trying to do the right thing this go-round, and take better care of myself during this body-stressful time.  I’m resting, reading, watching movies, and trying to eliminate sugar from my diet – I’m told that cancers feed on sugar, so it’s time to try to starve that devil outta me!  I’ll be off work a total of 11 weeks, and that should be enough time to give me the rest I require.

Talking to you from Movie Central,

Love,

Linda

The roller coaster

Not having a very good day – feeling sick and weak, hope tomorrow will be better.  I’ve had a few good days (not many), but I know these bad days are just due to the effects of the harsh chemicals they use for the chemo.  All part of the long road to recovery.

Thanks for all your good thoughts and for your comments you have posted here.

Love,

Linda
